Information on the Batteries Act:

As some of our shipments include batteries and rechargeable batteries, we are obliged by the Batteries Act (Batteriegesetz, “BattG”) to advise you of the following: Batteries and rechargeable batteries may not be disposed of with household waste, but you are legally obliged to return used batteries and rechargeable batteries. Used batteries may contain harmful substances which may damage the environment or your health if not stored or disposed of correctly. However, batteries also contain valuable raw materials such as iron, zinc, manganese and nickel, and can be recycled. After use, you can either return batteries to us or take them to a nearby point (e.g. dealer, public collection points, or our shipping warehouse) free of charge. Collection at points of sale is restricted to quantities normal for end users, and applies only to used batteries which are or have been part of the product range on sale there as new batteries.

The crossed-out bin symbol means that you may not dispose of batteries and rechargeable batteries with household waste. You will also find additional characters below this with the following meanings:

• Pb: Battery contains lead
• Cd: Battery contains cadmium
  
• Hg: Battery contains mercury

Information on electrical and electronic equipment:

We meet the requirements of the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (Elektrogesetz, “ElektroG”) in Germany, and as a valued customer, we advise you of the following:

Waste electrical and electronic equipment may not be disposed of with household waste. Consumers are legally required to ensure that this equipment is properly disposed of separately from household waste.
To make this clear, all newly marketed electrical and electronic products carry the symbol of a crossed-out wheelie bin since 2005 to visibly indicate resource efficiency and environmental protection.

You have the option of taking electrical and electronic waste to a suitable collection point operated by dealers or municipalities. 

Please remove batteries and rechargeable batteries if at all possible, and dispose of them as described under “Information on the Batteries Act”. If the equipment contains data storage media, you will be required to erase any personal data.
